Lo.Co Comment Policy
Be Kind
We want you to feel at home when you post a comment on Life On. Cell Off™. We want everyone to feel at home posting comments on Life On. Cell Off™. Our website and company is very family oriented and we hope to keep our website information clean and respectful. That’s why we reserve the right to delete comments and ban users as needed to keep the comment threads here civil and substantive.
Our big rule is simple: Please do not be a jerk.
Comments
Please be the kind of commenter we’d love to bring home to introduce to family and friends. Here’s what we like to see in comments:
Weigh in with smart, informed ideas that contribute further to the story.
Give us useful, constructive criticism. Spot a typo or an error? Let us know and we will correct it.
Demonstrate and share the intelligence, wisdom, and humor we know you possess.
- Please do not feed the trolls. You would not dive into a debate just for the heck of it.
Moderate
Although we can’t be everywhere at once, here are some of the kinds of comments we’re going to do our best to moderate:
Promoting your own brand, product, or blog. Please send it through our contact us page instead.
Impersonating authors or other commenters.
Comments that make it clear you didn’t read the full article or understand the material.
Comments that are completely out of left field. Sometimes discussions veer off a bit, but are still related to the original subject. That is fine. Hijacking the conversation to promote off-topic commentary is not.
Threats — no matter how vague — against the author or other commenters.
Racism, sexism, homophobia, you get the drift.
Trolling - trying to get a rise out of someone. Forcing them to respond to you, either through wise-crackery, posting incorrect information, asking blatantly stupid questions, or other foolishness. However, trolling statements are never true or are ever meant to be construed as such. Nearly all trolled statements are meant to be funny to some people, so it does have some social/entertainment value. (Resource: http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=Trolling&defid=3931152)
